The Marvel Cinematic Universe fired Jonathan Majors who played Kang after he was found guilty of third-degree reckless endangerment, assault, and harassment of his former partner.

Majors was the central character of their Multiverse Saga and because of this, Marvel Studios is now devoid of Kang the Conqueror.

According to rumors, Doctor Doom, who will serve as the primary antagonist in Avengers 5 and Avengers 6: Secret Wars, will take over as the villain following Loki’s demise. Other reports, however, suggest that Marvel will search for a new actor to carry on with Kang’s story, and it appears that MCU fans are currently helping with the search by citing some names.

Several Black actors in Hollywood have been nominated for the role, including John David Washington, Aldis Hodge, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Trevante Rhodes, Damson Idris, John Boyega, Terrence Howard, and Donald Glover, who already has ties to rival DC Comics.

The latter two actors have both worked with Disney. Boyega starred as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy but was openly critical of his character being falsely marketed as an integral part of the galactic universe. He would later express displeasure with the company’s failure to address racist taunts he received from some of the franchise’s fan base.

As Colonel James Rhodes, Howard contributed to the 2008 release of Iron Man through what he claims was a three-film deal. His time in the MCU was brief, though, as he felt that Robert Downey Jr. did not stand up for him during negotiations for the sequel.

When 31-year-old Boyega posted pictures of himself with Captain America actor Anthony Mackie on X (previously Twitter) last month, a fan replied, telling Mackie to “tell Anthony Mackie to connect you w whoever is in charge of recasting kang.”
