A portion of a video of Jennifer Lopez has gone viral and has led to trolls from her fellow Bronx natives.

It all started from a portion in the documentary where she opened up on her early days in the Bronx in which she sat on a workbench in a white t-shirt and leggings, as she tousled her hair.

While speaking to the camera, she said: “I like taking my hair out like this. It reminds me of when I was 16 in the Bronx, running up and down the block. A crazy girl who used to be wild, had no limits but dreams.”

The video, shared across social media earlier in the month by Prime Video, comes from the 54-year-old’s non-fiction project The Greatest Story Ever Told.

While the Instagram upload boasts of over 60,000 likes, the comment section didn’t seem to be in favor of “Jenny From The Block,” with many implying she exaggerated her Bronx upbringing for clout.

Check out some reactions below:

The documentary tells the story of Lopez’s creative process in her latest era, which includes an album, This Is Me…Now, and a short film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story.

Lopez explained that the idea was to make a record in a way she hadn’t done in a long time, and in the end, it wasn’t the whole story.

She adds that she reached out to the director, Dave Meyers, and explained the concept of the documentary to him.
