Smack That, Akon’s 2006 hit single, has exceeded one billion streams on Spotify. Staunch fans of the RnB talent have hailed the achievement of the singer-songwriter who has been on his Super Fan Tour recently.

The accomplishment is said to be Akon’s first and Eminem’s 12th song to have reached this milestone. Eminem wrote, produced, and programmed the song, with additional writing from Akon, Mike Strange, and Luis Resto.

The official video for the song has also reached over 1.2 billion views on YouTube. Smack That, which received massive endorsement in its hay days, is described as a perfect club song.

It was released as the first single from Akon’s second album Konvicted on September 26, 2006. It received gold and platinum certifications in many countries and accumulated over three million downloads in the United States.

It also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and appeared on many music charts including the Billboard Hot 100.

Akon has been on his ‘Superfan Tour’, which began April 27, 2024, entertaining his followers throughout the United Kingdom, and Europe.

The musical excursion is said to be Akon’s first trip in ten years and will mark the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Trouble.

Akon’s trip took off at Birmingham’s O2 Academy with other locations like London and Glasgow, Manchester, appearing on his schedule. The Europe leg of the tour has also been running throughout May 2024.

He recently shared videos of his performance in Glasglow and Birmingham on his socials.  A series of shows were planned to go live in Stockholm, Oslo, and Zurich before the grand finale on May 21, 2024, at the Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

The ‘Superfan Tour’ is said to be a show filled with “good music and energy,” as Akon entertained his guests. Before this show, he had turned up at a major golf event in Miami in April.
