American pop band, Maroon 5 has been listed among several headliners for the 2024 Ottawa Bluesfest, a music festival scheduled for July this year.

The 30th anniversary of the celebration has about 80 performers, according to details put out by the organisers. The event would take place from July 4 to 14 at the Canadian War Museum at LeBreton Flats Park.

It is described as a festival that showcases top and emerging talents in Ottawa, Canada. About 600 acts were said to have applied for a spot before the final shortlisting.

Rock legend Neil Young, and hip-hop heavyweight 50 Cent, are also among the performers billed for the summer show, which a lot of fans in the region are looking forward to joining.

Meanwhile, Maroon 5 is celebrating the one billion mark attained recently by their 2002 record titled This is Love. The team posted a short video on X (Twitter) early this week to celebrate the achievement.

The song was released on January 12, 2004, as the second single from their debut album Songs About Jane in 2002. It is rated for its “distinctive piano line and repeating guitar riff.”

The song’s lyrics are based on the band’s lead vocalist Adam Levine’s breakup with an ex-girlfriend. According to some written records, he revealed that the song was written during the “most emotionally trying time” in his life, and also described the lyrics as “extremely erotic.”

This is Love, according to official records, entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine’s component charts, and reached the number one spot on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.

The song is reported to have helped Maroon 5 win the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and was the third-most-played song of 2004. The song’s live version won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2006 Grammy Awards.

Described as one of Maroon 5’s most successful singles, the composition topped charts in many countries and received certification of gold and platinum in countries including Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, and Mexico.
