Cam’ron and Ma$e have shared ideas on possible reasons why Kobe Bryant’s parents decided to auction his first NBA Championship ring.

On a recent episode of their podcast, It Is What It Is, the duo suggested that the strained relationship the NBA star had with his parents could be the reason.

According to the two stars, history showed that Kobe and his parents were not on the best of terms.

The episode’s special guest, former NFL player Maurice Clarett, surmised that the ring was being sold to make a little money since Vanessa Bryant and Kobe’s estate isn’t supporting the rest of his family – allegedly, of course. Clarett admitted he gathered his information based on hearsay and was merely speculating.

Cam’ron echoed sentiments shared by Ma$e and explained how the late basketball star’s strained relationship with his parents could be the most obvious reason. He then detailed how Vanessa stayed committed to Kobe even after rumors of infidelity.

Gilbert Arenas has also shared an opinion on why Kobe’s parents pursued that course of action. He opined that Kobe’s parents are broke and are trying to survive.

Reports show that the ring is still up for auction on Goldin, and it is listed as “2000 Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring 14K-40 Diamonds – Laker Issued Player Ring Gifted By Kobe To Joe Bryant – Pam Bryant LOA,” with the leading bid currently priced at $141,000. The starting bid for the memorabilia was priced at $30,000.

In an earlier report, Kobe’s parents apologized for putting the ring up for sale, saying they regretted their actions and were sorry for the consequent pain their actions might have caused. They added that they appreciated all the financial support the late NBA star had provided them over the years.

One of the fans referred to the act as “disgraceful”, while another noted that the late basketball star would never have sold it if he were alive. A third thought that the ring needed to stay in the family, and another opinion was that Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, needed to buy it to keep it safe.
