Kevin Hunter Sr., Wendy Williams’ ex-husband, is furious about the new Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? which follows the life of the troubled talk show host.

The way Wendy’s ex-husband was portrayed in the new document and her current state caught him off guard.

In one of the clips from the trailer, a man can be seen asking Wendy if she has ever drunk from an empty liquor bottle that is on the ground. Williams requests that he “keep the bottle there.” For Hunter, seeing that moment was hard.

“He thought it was very sad to see the scene in the trailer where Wendy was screaming over a vodka bottle and looking lost in the middle of New York City,” according to a source.

Hunter was against the documentary from the beginning as he was never certain how the it was going to play out concerning Williams’ already damaged reputation—especially with their son Kevin Jr. involved.

The source continued, “Kevin was shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light in the Lifetime trailer.”

After initially saying he didn’t want to be involved in the project, Kevin Jr., their son, ended up signing on, which completely caught his dad off guard as well.

After her television career was halted, he was reportedly “furious” that his ex was “still being exploited to that level.” Hunter is also troubled by his son’s decision to participate in the documentary after first claiming he wouldn’t.

According to the insider, “Little Kev was repeatedly advised that it was not in his best interest to have his name attached to this project and that it was a bad look to be involved in it.”

The documentary chronicles Wendy Williams’ deteriorating health starting in 2021, and when she left her talk show. In the teaser, Wendy is shown clinging to her loved ones as they sincerely try to support her battle health issues.

The shocking footage reveals the evident mental and physical toll Wendy has endured in the years since exiting her daytime talk show.

“I’m financially strained, and I want to share something with you,” Wendy says in a poignant moment from the trailer. “If it can happen to me, it could happen to anyone.”

Where is Wendy Williams? will debut on Lifetime on February 24 and 25 at 8 p.m.
