Before she won her first Grammy, she was admired by many in her home country and abroad. But the value added to her existing recognition has made a lot more fans profess love for South Africa’s Tyla.

On Wednesday, American cable television channel MTV posted on X (Twitter) asking followers to explain why they love Tyla Seethal and the impact she has had on them. There were about 64,000 comments, with lots of positive remarks about the Water hitmaker.

Some people say she is an inspiration to many young people, while others admire her confidence and the fact that she represents the African culture beautifully.

For some, it is her sense of fashion and the infectious smiles and giggles that keep them excited anytime she appears in public.

“Our African Queen… Major inspiration for every African child. I love Tyla because she’s a great dancer, Hilarious (like me), and she’s super talented and stunning,” one of her fans wrote.

Another follower added: “She is one of my biggest inspirations because she comes from Africa like me and showed everyone that it’s possible to reach insane heights. So amazing to be her break new records like perhaps her winning a Grammy. She’s so amazing and talented.”

For others, she is a true representation of South Africans, an indication that other people could also make it in any endeavour, irrespective of their colour or origin. One top admirer said she has inspired my young girls to use their natural hair and style it differently.

“I love her because she inspires me to believe in my dreams and keep fighting for them. She encourages me to be confident and never lost faith and keep me close to God. I love her cuz she bring light into our lives,” a comment read.

Following her recent recognition, Tyla is set to announce her first studio album sometime in March this year. The self-titled project, according to sources, would be promoted with her debut concert tour dubbed: The Tyla Tour.

The tour is scheduled to commence in March 2024 in Oslo, Norway, and conclude in May 2024 in Minneapolis, United States. Her songs On and On, Truth or Dare, Butterflies, released in the last quarter of 2023 were a prelude to the album, which features guest artiste, Travis Scott.
