In the realm of social media attacks, the majority of celebrities either create burner accounts or ask a term member to do so to respond to such attacks.

The most recent well-known person to admit to owning one such account is actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish.

A Burner account is an anonymous account (usually on a social media website) used (temporarily) for actions that the user does not want to have related to their main account.

During her speech at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California on April 21, the 44-year-old comedian disclosed that she interacts with strangers who criticize her on X using a burner account.

“After the internet was developed, people were able to discuss anything they wanted to talk about.” During a panel discussion about her upcoming book I Curse You with Joy, Tiffany remarked, “And now I wish I was back to illiterate again.”

“People come to talk about me, so I show up. It’s okay; I’m not sure why you guys are talking about me so much. I also enjoy talking about you.”

The Girls Trip actress remarked, “I created a burner account and now I’m talking about s—,” during the panel. What are you saying? “Why is this woman attacking me?” Don’t worry, what goes around comes around, as you say.”

She responded, “I don’t know about fake Instagram, but I definitely got fake Twitter,” when someone asked if she had a “Finsta,” or fictitious Instagram account. “I mean a fake X, a fake X.”

After releasing her first book, The Last Black Unicorn, in 2017, Haddish has now written two more. In that book, she first revealed that she had difficulty with reading until high school.

The actress acknowledged at the ceremony on Sunday that her high school theater instructor was the one who noticed she had trouble reading and needed extra time to help catch up.

“I would bring food to her class and read to her, giving her access to books, newspaper articles, and other items she would get me to read.”

Tiffany recalled that for her to assist her, I had to read it aloud to her.

“My mind functions differently. My brain operates slightly differently. That’s why I needed someone to sit with me and give me direction. I needed direction,” the student said, stating that the assistance from the teacher “changed my life.”

“She gave me the fundamentals that I needed and they were always there but I didn’t know how to use them,” stated Tiffany. “So then she helped me learn how to use them.”
