The father of multiple award-winning star, Taylor Swift, would not have to bother himself after accusations of assault levelled against him have been dropped.

A paparazzo in Sydney, Australia, reportedly claimed that he was assaulted by the singer’s father, Scot Kingsley Swift while trying to get a picture of the Anti-hero singer, but investigations into the matter indicate that no further action was required in the case.

The incident reportedly occurred on February 27, 2024. A freelance photographer named, Ben McDonald, said he was “out on the job chasing Taylor Swift who “got off a super-yacht at a Neutral Bay and walked with an umbrella over her head.”

According to McDonald, “a couple of security guards” around Taylor Swift, “sort of pushed away people from getting close to the artiste.  He, however, claimed that Taylor Swift’s dad threw a punch amidst the clamor, which left him (McDonald) “sore but uninjured.”

He told the reporters that he had made a report to the police, but a spokeswoman for Taylor Swift said the photographers were being ‘aggressive’ but McDonalds claims were “utter rubbish”.

According to media reports, a police investigation into the alleged incident indicates that “no further action” had to be taken in the matter.

Taylor Swift was in Sydney as part of her ongoing ‘Eras’ world tour. The performance in the city ended on February 26, 2024, as she thrilled fans in Melbourne, which was said to be her largest audience ever.

The Eras Tour is described by Taylor as a journey through all of her musical “eras” and is considered the “most expensive” tour yet.

It would be recalled that Taylor Swift won her 13th Grammy for her album Midnights on Sunday, February 20, 2024, and took the opportunity to announce her next project titled: The Tortured Poets Department.

The 16-track album, according to the singer, will be available on April 19, 2024. On the Eras Tour, she performed six shows at Singapore’s National Stadium from March 2–9.

Reports indicate that she will resume the European leg of the tour in May, which will take off with a show at LA Défense Arena in Paris.
