American singer and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo has made history on Spotify, as all songs on her album titled Sour are said to have exceeded 300 million streams on the platform.

The album is ranked the first in the history of the streaming platform to have attained this milestone.

Sour , Rodrigo’s debut studio album, was released under Geffen Records in the United States and Canada on May 21, 2021.  The album was written by Rodrigo and produced by Dan Nigro.

Originally planned as an Extended Play (EP), the project was expanded into a full-length album following the viral success of her debut single, Drivers License. The album highlights subjects of adolescence, failed romance, and heartache.

Three singles, including Deja Vu and Good 4 U, which preceded the release of the album, reportedly made their way to the top three of the US Billboard Hot 100 in the year they were released.

Other records on the 11-track recording include. Traitor, Hope Ur Ok, Favourite Crime, Enough For You, and many others.

Sour was listed among the best albums of 2021, including by Billboard and Rolling Stone that placed the album at number one on their year-end rankings.

At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, Sour and Drivers License won Best Pop Vocal Album and Pop Solo Performance, respectively; Rodrigo won Best New Artist as well.

In September 2023, the American singer-songwriter and actress released her second album, Guts.

The inspirational young talent has received many recognitions, including three Grammy Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, four iHeartRadio Music Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, and many others.

The latest breakthrough on Spotify will certainly be another feather in her cap.
