Simone Biles is once again responding to the criticism aimed at her husband, Jonathan Owens on social media.

This happened after gymnast Goat posted pictures of the Green Bay Packers football star cheering her on her Instagram page during the 2024 Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic.

“My whole heart,” she wrote in her caption. “The best supporter; I couldn’t ask for a better husband.”

After sharing the image, some users said that Owens was only doing the “bare minimum” and reminded the Olympian that she was the “prize” in their relationship.

These remarks alluded to Owens’ December 2023 interview on The Pivot podcast, during which he declared that he was “the catch” in their relationship over Biles and that he had “no idea” who she was after viewing her dating app profile.

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels, and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August,” he said at the time.

“So I’m not paying attention. I never would’ve had a moment where I would’ve watched [her compete].”

After that, Biles posted a message on her Instagram Stories instructing her followers to keep their distance from Owens.

“I’ll get right to this; the joke was never funny! You guys are openly disrespecting my husband and our relationship.

Therefore, allow me to make this statement once. With all due respect, f*** off,” she wrote.

“And I’ll just block you if you keep tweeting or leaving comments for me. It’s as easy as that. And no, I don’t have to touch the grass or do anything else that you guys recommend. @everyone else that supports us, we love y’all so much,” the post noted in its conclusion.

Additionally, Owens responded to criticism on his own Instagram Stories, posting the following:

“It’s weird behavior to be so furious about people you don’t know from a can of paint.”

Biles has previously addressed disparaging remarks made about her spouse in public.

She made an appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast in April to discuss how she initially found the comments funny.

“People saying ‘divorce him, divorce him’ struck me as funny”.

She said to Cooper, “All of this crazy stuff.” Furthermore, he finds it offensive to even mention divorce. So I thought it was hilarious at first, and then they hurt my feelings.”

“And then one evening, I lost it and asked, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband in such a negative way?’ You don’t know him, really. You have no idea who he is and if anyone has met him, they are aware of how kind he is and how willing he is to help anyone.”

After years of being in the spotlight, the gold medalist clarified that she doesn’t take criticism too seriously, but she does become defensive when her loved ones get involved.

“Because, in my opinion, it’s like this: Talk about me all you want, but never come for my family,” Biles remarked.

“I can dismiss things and have my little powwow because I’ve been in the spotlight for a long enough period of time. I’m crying about certain stuff, but you won’t know that I cried about it. But I can’t even clap back, so that’s why I simply cry about it. Just know that,” the Olympian revealed.
