She Writes Some Wonderful Songs – Cyndi Lauper To Taylor Swift

Country music legend, Cyndi Lauper, is impressed with the remarkable stride in Taylor Swift’s career.

In a recent interview, The Time After Time singer admiration for Taylor’s songwriting and named an album that made her a fan of the Anti-Hero singer.

“Look, I like her,” [referring to Taylor] “I think she’s terrific. As an artist, she writes some wonderful songs.”  

“I first started listening during the pandemic…when she went and hibernated and did that wonderful folk record [Folklore]. “It was wonderful. I’m proud of her,” she told the BBC.

Taylor Swift’s latest album The Tortured Poets Department arrived on Thursday, April 19, 2024, to the amusement of a lot of her followers.

A day before the release, the singer dropped the single Fortnight ft one of Taylor’s favorite rappers, Post Malone, and shared a video expressing compliments to her collaborator.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post [Malone] because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation, and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever…”I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight,” Taylor Swift wrote on Instagram. 

Clearly, these musicians admire the work produced by their colleagues and Cyndi’s public endorsement of Taylor is not surprising.

Cyndi Lauper herself will begin a tour of North America later in October this year. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” will take her through 23 cities, including New York, Boston, and Nashville.

The trip will begin on October 18, 2024, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, and will end on December 5, 2024, at the United Center in Chicago. The tour is said to be her first major event in more than a decade.

Tickets started selling since June 7, 2024. The tour will happen after the premiere of a new documentary on June 4, 2024, highlighting the life of the American singer.

Let The Canary Sing film will delve into the career and legacy of Cyndi Lauper using archival footage and interviews with the pop icon herself, and feature other notable names in music.

The project directed by Alison Ellwood, will also highlight Cyndi’s impact as an activist in many circles. It will first be available on the Paramount+ streaming platform in the United States and Canada.
