Killer Mike’s arrest outside the 2024 Grammys has been addressed. According to reports, the rapper was brought into police custody and charged with misdemeanour violence.

On Sunday night, a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department was posted on X, stating that 48-year-old Michael Render was arrested and handcuffed after a violent confrontation in downtown L.A.

He was released after five hours of questioning. Under California’s penal law, the charge may result in a $2,000 fine, six months in prison, or both.

The rapper, who bagged three awards on the night and was supposed to bask in his own glory, rather had issues with the law and got arrested.

Killer Mike, real name Michael Santiago Render, was detained by police just after receiving his Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4. He is alleged to have been involved in a physical altercation.

The arrest occurred at Crypto.com Arena shortly after Killer Mike had been given his awards during the pre-telecast ceremony.

According to Rolling Stone, its LAPD source indicated that the rapper was handcuffed and questioned after a dispute inside the arena involving a third party.

Video captured by The Hollywood Reporter showed Render being taken away in handcuffs. He was released Sunday night on his own recognizance.
