During an interactive session at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Will Smith, who was in attendance reflected on some mistakes he had made.

He acknowledged that he had made several mistakes while in the spotlight during the session.

In front of a throng of loyal fans, the 55-year-old Hollywood leading man participated in an on-stage discussion with Lebanese TV host Raya Abirached.

The actor seemed comfortable discussing his “many adversities” over the previous few years and his efforts to move on by learning from his mistakes.

Will was honest with the animated film festival audience, telling them, “I have made many mistakes.” One woman even yelled back, “We love your mistakes!”

“I have done tons of mistakes. I am a monster of a kind. When people compliment you, you shouldn’t get too excited because that will only make you struggle and suffer more when people say negative things about you”, Will Smith said.

“I have to be clear about who I am and what I am attempting to do in the world,” he added.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star added that he doesn’t want to “need” the applause of others for him to “stay focused on [his] mission.” “And at the same time, I am deeply human. And I am in the process of perfecting my virtue.”

Smith discussed how the public viewed him in contrast to his desire to advance in his career.

This comes weeks after 52-year-old Jada Pinkett Smith disclosed that she and her partner had been apart for seven years.

Fans who recall the Men in Black actor slapping Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Oscars after the comedian made a joke about Pinkett Smith were shocked to learn of the couple’s breakup.

Despite his well-publicized ups and downs in the last few years, Smith revealed at the film festival that he is working on an exciting sequel.

Smith also disclosed that he is collaborating with Michael B. Jordan on I Am Legend 2. The actor claimed that he had given the script to the Creed III star and that he would be calling him soon.

On the DVD version of the 2007 movie, there is a different ending that keeps Smith alive, even though his character died in the original ending.

Smith explained, “So we are sticking with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived. I have to stop telling you now.”
