Women’s rights group, UltraViolet, recently made the case that Sean “Diddy” Combs should be disqualified from the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Their announcement comes weeks after Diddy was named in a fourth lawsuit alleging sexual assault.

Ultraviolet argued that the Grammy Awards should take a strong stance on the matter to support survivors and the #MeToo movement.

“The recent allegations of sexual abuse, sex trafficking of a minor, and domestic violence made against Sean “Diddy” Combs over the past three weeks deeply disturb and concern us. The gravity of Combs’s allegations emphasizes the importance of the #MeToo movement and the ongoing need for accountability”, excerpts of the statement read.

It went on to say, “Combs’ inappropriate and abusive behavior is the reason almost all of his brands have dropped him, which is not surprising. But last month, Combs was nominated for his first Grammy Award as a lead artist in one of the two R&B album categories. Women’s rights group demands that the Grammys immediately disqualify Combs’ invitation and nomination and that they quit endorsing individuals who misuse their position of authority. That doesn’t have to be witnessed by the survivors.”

They go on to emphasize how challenging it can be for victims of abuse to come forward. In addition, UltraViolet emphasizes that they “deserve our attention and our respect.”

Most recently, Diddy and two other men were accused of gang-raping a woman who wishes to remain anonymous. In 2003, the year of the purported assault, she was just 17 years old.

Diddy has since denied the allegations in light of his multiple sexual assault lawsuits, stating, “Enough is enough.”

According to recent information available online, Diddy has since lost the backing of at least eighteen brands connected to his e-commerce platform, Empower Global. The repercussions stem from Cassie, and now three additional women are accusing him of sexual assault. The Bad Boy mogul is still experiencing a sharp decline in popularity, even though he has refuted the accusations.

Earlier this month, Diddy broke his silence regarding the lawsuits. It’s enough, he declared at the time. “I have been sitting quietly for the past few weeks, witnessing attempts to discredit me, my legacy, and my character. I’ve been the target of horrifying accusations from people hoping to get rich fast. To be crystal clear, I did not do any of the horrible things that are being said. I’m going to fight for the truth, my family, and my name.”
