Tia Mowry has always been open about the difficulties she faced getting over her split from Cory Hardrict.
However, Hardrict is now speaking out about his traumatic divorce experience from former child star Tia Mowry.
When Mowry announced on social media in October 2022 that she had chosen to split from Hardrict, the world was shocked to learn of their impending divorce.
After 14 years of marriage, their divorce was finally formalized in April 2023.
Fans are now getting a tiny glimpse of the suffering that the Chi actor has been going through over the last few years.

During an interview at the American Black Film Festival, Hardrict completely dropped his shell and revealed some of the difficulties he faces in maintaining his privacy and getting over his pain.
“It’s tough when you feel like you’re going through something alone and no one understands and no one’s there for you. It’s just like, you know, you’re a man. Especially as a black man, you know, he’s tough. He’s strong, but, you know”, ” he stated while seated on a panel.
It was a year and a half of crying myself to sleep every night. Nobody sees that. You live 5 minutes away from your babies; you know what I’m saying. Because people that know Cory Hardrict know that his kids and his family were everything to him,” he continued.
He stated, before sharing, “I’m stronger than I thought I was. I’m really stronger, and that’s by the grace or God of this guy. I’m here, and I’m still going.
Hardrict is currently playing the lead in Tyler Perry’s new film, Divorce in the Black, opposite Meagan Good, who is also recently divorced.
When questioned if getting the role was influenced by his own divorce or if it in any way improved his life, Hardrict replied: “Without diving into my personal life, I just felt that everything was there, that everyone experiences life’s hardships, and that occasionally one needs outlets. I was able to express every feeling I was experiencing during the production by using this video as a huge outlet to let it all out and put it all on screen. It was sincere and honest”.
“Because you know we had those feelings built up, all of our performances were genuine, and that’s what made this movie so wonderful.”
Subsequently, he said, “So, yeah, it helped me out. I’m really fortunate and favored. I’m outside right now. Alright, I’m thrilled. I haven’t spent ten years outside.”
After some clarification, he stated that he is actually “working” and not truly “outside.”
As previously stated, some fans feel that Perry was taking advantage of Hardrict and Good for the movie, citing their well-publicized divorces as justification.
Both actors think the initiative is a good one and urge people to see the movie.
Divorce in the Black will be available to stream on Amazon Prime from July 11.
