Texas Hold Em by Beyonce has not only topped the Billboard Country Songs chart but also reached the top spot on Spotify Global.

According to figures put out by Spotify Data, the song has spent its second day at the number one spot on the streaming platform with 6.52 million streams as of February 25, 2024.

That notwithstanding, the official visualizer for the song has also seen an impressive jump, with 9.2 million views on YouTube in barely two weeks.

The figures indicate how widely listeners have accepted the tune, which is described as an ode to the pop superstar’s home state.

The song is the lead single off her forthcoming eighth studio album, dropped during the Super Bowl, alongside another track titled 16 Carriages. The album is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.

It is not clear how soon an official video for Texas Hold ‘Em will be released, but the overall rating of the song has been massive.

“She’s really reclaiming the black music genres and bringing them back to its roots. First it was house music, now it’s country. Can’t wait till she redeem rock and roll next,” one fan said.

“I’m not usually a fan of country music, but this one is different,” another added. One critic said: “As someone who likes Country music, not sure if I like this. Maybe after another song or two, I’ll decide.”

“I don’t like Country, and I hate Rap. I’m authentic Gen X, but I must say I’m liking this song. My mother made me listen to Country as a kid…and I’m feeling this song. I’m a huge fan of Jazz and music history; this is good,” were other positive reviews.

It would be recalled that country legend Dolly Parton praised Beyoncé after Texas Hold ‘Em reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

In a social media post, Parton said she is a “big fan” of Beyoncé and “very excited” that the Single Ladies performer has done a country album.

“So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to hear the full album!,” Parton wrote.

Her message came as Texas Hold ‘Em debuted at No. 1, making Beyoncé the first black woman to score a No. 1 hit in the history of Billboard’s hot country songs list.

The milestone is described as “a cultural shift for country music,” which has been reserved for the “cowboys and girls.”
