Recently, a woman’s account of a disastrous first date went viral on social media. after indicating that she had a very unique pastime.
Big Mimosa, a user on X (formerly Twitter) with the X handle @thatssooodrea, claimed to have told her date that she feeds the homeless at least once a month. The woman disclosed in a widely shared tweet that the man wanted her to repeat the gesture during their first date.
The man’s proposal to take her to feed homeless people on their first date was met with criticism from the X account.
She wrote, “I said once a month I go feed the homeless, so N—a invited me on a date to go feed the homeless as a first date. It seems like his mind suggested that they go on a date. Please quit giving me dumb things if being single is meant to be my everlasting state”.
Since it was posted, the tweet has received over 5.1 million social media views and a range of opinions have been shared.

While feeding the homeless isn’t a horrible idea for a date, some social media users thought it was plain inappropriate for the first one.
“I think this is a good idea for a 5th date or [something], but definitely not the first date,” a user on X posted.
“That could be like a couple thing in the future, but the first few dates are seeing who you are,” another user replied.
However, other netizens pointed out, that by picking a date that suited her interests, the man was probably attempting to be considerate.
“A man incorporating your hobbies and interests on the first date is mad, unselfish, and rare; you just didn’t like him enough, and that’s okay,” commented one individual.
