Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, Keyshia Cole, performed with students at the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta after paying the school a surprise visit.

In a video that surfaced on social media over the weekend, the founder of the institution, Ron Clark, was seen interrupting the students as they performed a song titled Love.

“No, no. You’re not doing it right,” Clark said. “You gotta do it better, buddy. I want more depth, more heart, more soul, I want more Keyshia Cole. Sing it like this…”

The students were stunned when at that moment, Cole walked out from behind the staircase on stage and sang along with them.  Donning an all-red hoodie and matching sweatpants, she passed the mic to students as they all sang together.

Love has gained increased popularity with the Gen-Z crowd after finding its way on TikTok. In San Jose, students at Herman Middle School were captured by DJ Brotha Reese as they sang the chorus.

Cole wrote Love along with Greg Curtis, for her debut album, The Way It Is, which was originally released in 2006,

It peaked at No.19 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and No.3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and was eventually certified platinum.

Cole is currently performing Love live across the country as she headlines the Love Hard Tour with Trey Songz, Jaheim, & K. Michelle.

In other news, Cole is setting the record straight on why she ended her marriage with Daniel Gibson.

According to PEOPLE, the Heaven Sent singer shone a light on her life while starring in her first acting role by portraying herself in Lifetime’s new biopic Keyshia Cole: This Is My Story.

In the movie, she gets real about what really happened that led her to divorce the former Cleveland Cavaliers NBA player. Cole and Gibson had their son, DJ, in 2010, and then the couple tied the knot a year later in 2011.
