Speaking of progessive African singers, South Africa’s Tyla remains unstoppable, as four of her compositions have climbed onto the top 10 Afrobeats Chart in the United States.

Her latest single, Truth or Dare has reached No. 4 on the US Afrobeats Top 10. Refreshing Water maintains its number one spot, while Me and You and On and On have maintained No. 3 and No. 10 spots, respectively, according to the list as published on December 16, 2023.

Tyla is also competing for Best African Performance at the 2024 Grammys and hopes to cement the gains already attained in 2023.

A few weeks ago, she released a self-titled 5-track compilation with sounds including Butterflies, On and On, and Truth or Dare.

Truth or Dare is a good anthem that has got staunch fans of Tyla Jamming just as they accept the other selections on the new Extended Play, which has over four million playbacks on Audiomack alone.

Listing the new songs among the top 10 is an indication of how irresistible the 21-year-old has become in the world of Afrobeats and beyond.

The 2024 Grammy nominee recently teamed up with American rapper and singer Travis Scott, on the remix of Water, which is ranked among the hottest R&B/Hip-Hop songs on the Billboard Chart.

American music producer and Disc Jockey (DJ) Marshmello had also done his mash-up of Water which is competing for Best African Performance at the Grammy on February 4, 2024.

In May 2023, the young entertainer released the single Girl Next Door featuring Ayra Starr.

Born Tyla Laura Seethal, she was recently adjudged Best Female Artiste at the African Entertainment Awards USA. She has been recording music since 2019 to date, releasing her debut single, Getting Later.
