Rapper Travis Scott was arrested Thursday in Miami-Dade County, Florida, for public misconduct and disturbance, according to police.

Known officially as Jacques Bermon Webster, Scott was reportedly booked for “trespassing on property after getting a warning, and disorderly intoxication” but was released from jail.

Police officers said they responded to a disturbance on a yacht docked at the Miami Beach Marina and saw Scott “yelling at people on the yacht.” According to reports, officers also sensed “a strong smell of alcohol coming from Scott’s breath.”

Police officers said they spoke with Scott and a complainant, who did not want to “press charges against the rapper so long as he left the yacht.”

“Scott complied but, as he departed, he walked backward yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel,” officers said, adding that the God’s Plan composer was erratic and disturbed “the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings.”

The rapper, according to sources, was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he admitted to drinking alcohol.

Counsel for Scott, however, said, the rapper was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding but “there was absolutely no physical altercation involved.”

Travis Scott’s case is similar to that of singer-songwriter, Justine Timberlake, who was charged early this week for drunk driving.

Justine, due for court on July 26, 2024, was reportedly arrested after midnight in New York when police pulled him over in a grey BMW for driving through a stop sign and failing to stay on the right side of the road.

His eyes were “bloodshot and glassy and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath”, officers said in a charge document, but the Mirrors hitmaker was released on bail.

Timberlake’s lawyer, however, said he will “vigorously defend “his client. The singer was said to be driving in Sag Harbor, an affluent village and a popular summer destination for celebrities.
