Tory Lanez’s wife, Raina Chassagne, has filed for divorce from the imprisoned rapper after less than a year of marriage.
The couple, who tied the knot just before Lanez began serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, are now headed for a split.
According to Essence, Chassagne, who shares a seven-year-old son named Kai with Lanez, filed for divorce last week, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The filing comes just shy of their first wedding anniversary.
Chassagne is seeking sole legal and physical custody of their son, though she has agreed to allow Lanez visitation rights. Despite the turmoil, she diligently takes Kai to visit his father in prison.
The couple’s whirlwind marriage began on June 25, 2023, just weeks before Lanez was sentenced for the high-profile shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion.

The altercation, which occurred in July 2020 after a party hosted by Kylie Jenner, has been a constant source of controversy. Tory Lanez has consistently maintained his innocence, despite his conviction and subsequent imprisonment.
Lanez is in the early stages of his decade-long sentence but has filed an appeal. His appeal argues “Erroneous Admission of Evidence” and “Prosecutorial Misconduct,” though proceedings have been delayed to allow the prosecution to review his motion.
The fallout from the incident has been deeply personal for Megan Thee Stallion, who shared in a statement read by Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta that Lanez’s actions had caused her significant trauma.
She accused Tory Lanez of spreading false narratives about the shooting and exploiting her pain in his music, resulting in her enduring continuous distress since the incident.
