Taylor Swift fans, known as ‘Swifties’, can now access the singer’s hit records on TikTok as her music has returned to the social media site.

This happened months after her label, Universal Music Group, withdrew all of its artistes from TikTok, due to “unfair compensation for the artistes and the harmful effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI).”

Collections by Taylor Swift, however, returned to the site as the singer is reported to have now owned the masters of her recordings.

Meanwhile, songs from other artistes signed to the Universal Music label are still not available on TikTok. The list includes Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Adele, Coldplay, J Balvin, Post Malone, and others.

It would be recalled that, sometime in February, songs by artists licensed to Universal Music Group (UMG), the world’s largest music company, were removed from TikTok.

The move, according to reports, was a result of UMG and TikTok failing to reach a new licensing agreement before a January 31, 2024, deadline.

The removal reportedly affected videos containing music licensed by Universal. UMG accused TikTok of not paying its artistes “fairly and exploiting their music for its benefit.”

UMG also claimed that TikTok allowed its platform “to be flooded with AI-generated recordings—as well as developing tools to enable, promote, and encourage AI music creation on the platform itself,” which it said violated the rights of its artists and songwriters.

Following the return of Taylor Swift’s record to TikTok, music enthusiasts would be looking forward to hearing several masterpieces as the singer prepares to launch her new album on April 19, this year.

The compilation, titled The Tortured Poets Department is said to have guest appearances, including Post Malone and a bonus track titled The Manuscript

Taylor Swift, sometime last month, revealed the track list of the album with titles like Fortnight [ft. Post Malone], My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, So Long, London, But Daddy I Love Him, Fresh Out the Slammer, Guilty as Sin, and many others.
