Veteran in the entertainment business, Tammy Williams, is building Cinema South Studios. This multi-million dollar film production facility will be situated in Fayetteville, Georgia, a short distance from Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
The catch here is that, in the history of Georgia, her new studio will be the first owned by a woman of color.
Williams is set to be the first black woman to own a studio and post-production facility and also the first to launch a Motion Picture Career and Education Expo in the state of Georgia.
Tammy also launched her job training and workshop academy in 2012, which provides hands-on training in the film and TV industry.
She has been in the entertainment business for over 25 years and established Tammy’Dele Films in 2016 as a film, television, and digital production company. She’s now assuming a new role as the female owner of a primarily black production studio. She has a diverse writing and producing portfolio, which includes film, biographies, documentaries, entertainment, and network news.

“We’ve been patient. This vision for us has not happened overnight,” she said to AJC, adding that she wanted to construct her own studio space for the past twelve years.
Williams also disclosed that she is working with investor Gary Guidry to construct the facility. A transportation company, an office building with a theater and post-production facilities, a prop house, a wardrobe rental facility, a lighting grip rental house, and up to 11 soundstages will all be part of the 60-acre complex.
“The demand for soundstages is happening globally, and the ownership rarely looks like us, let alone an African American woman,” stated Guidry.
“I consider the ownership’s and the business’s needs before making an investment. I was persuaded to purchase the land in Fayetteville, Georgia, by investing in Tammy Williams and her group of experts, especially with her skills at the forefront,” Guidry added.
Together with Williams’ production company, Tammy’Dele Films, the facility will also house the Cinema South Film Academy and Tammy’Dele Films Workshops, which will host educational and job training seminars.
