Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, has re-signed Danny Boy, a former Death Row Records artiste to the label.
Acting as the label’s owner, Snoop announced the move on Instagram on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
“He’s back home,” Snoop wrote alongside a series of emojis. In the comments section, several artistes, including Omarion and Faith Evans, shared their excitement at the news.
On his own Instagram page, Danny noted that “after 20 something years I finally got@the opportunity to do a song with the #dog #bigbro that open the door for us all @deathrowrecords @snoopdogg wow can’t believe this past week… I went on a #faithwalk #staytuned.”
In another post, he added: “Thanks to my Neice @sasha_lanyae and her coworker @americanairline for having me sing on the mic and welcoming me back to #deathrow wow this chapter is going to be amazing.”

Available details show that Suge Knight originally signed Danny to Death Row back when the rapper was only 16 years old.
During his time with the label, he appeared on 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, as well as The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory and the soundtrack to Murder Was the Case.
The label unfortunately shelved his debut album, It’s About Time, but the project did eventually see the light of day in 2010.
Snoop previously mentioned being interested in bringing Danny back to Death Row after acquiring the label back in 2022.
In other news, Snoop Dogg thanked BET after Death Row won its “Best Rap Crew Of All Time” tournament.
He celebrated the achievement on Instagram, earlier this week.
Commenting on the results, he thanked fans and wrote, “Wow,” with fire, prayer hands, and music notes emojis. Death Row beat out Wu-Tang Clan in the championship round.
The record label previously beat out YMCMB, TDE, N.W.A. & The Posse, and the Hieroglyphics Crew during the first four rounds to reach the final.
Death Row is credited with having Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Tha Dogg Pound, Warren G, DJ Quik, The Lady Of Rage, and others walk through its halls.
