Raves & Roses, the debut album by Afrobeats Prince Rema, has added another jewel to its crown, following a platinum certification in France.

The recognition makes the album the second Afrobeats record to attain prestigious status after Burna Boy’s African Giant Album. The approval comes nearly two years after the compilation was made public.

Rema’s Rave and Roses (Ultra) album was released in April 2022. In December 2023, the project was certified gold in the United States.

The project has songs, including the award-winning Calm Down (Remix) ft Selena Gomez. The rest are Reason You, Dunno Me, Charm, HOV, and Holiday. The standard version of the album has Divine, Hold Me Soundgasm, Dirty, Time n Affection, Calm Down (original), and many others.

It would be recalled that Rave and Roses reached No. 3 on the Billboard World Albums Chart in 2023, and also performed remarkably in countries including Belgium, Canada, and Nigeria in 2022.

Calm Down became the first and only Afrobeats song to surpass one billion Spotify streams, as the official video also gathered 830 million views on YouTube. The song is also reported as the highest and longest charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Early in February 2024, Rema became the first African act to perform at the BRIT Awards.

He mounted the stage to thrill the audience at his first international show at the ceremony, which also saw performances from Jungle, a British electronic music band.

Rema was nominated in the same category as Burna Boy and Asake, in the International Artiste of the Year category but they were unsuccessful at the event which came off March 2, 2024, at the O2 arena in London.
