The award ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, April 1. Beyoncé, who recently released her country-inspired album, Cowboy Carter, appeared on stage in a cowgirl-style outfit that perfectly matched her new musical direction.

Beyoncé acknowledged several music legends, including Prince, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Tracy Chapman, and Stevie Wonder, during her acceptance speech. Stevie Wonder, who contributed significantly to her Cowboy Carter album, presented her with the award.

She mentioned Rosetta Tharp, Tracy Chapman, Linda Martell, Prince, Stevie Wonder, André 3000, Tina Turner, and Michael Jackson.

She expressed her deep respect and love for Stevie Wonder, stating that anyone she could listen to for the rest of her life would be him. She also thanked her husband, Jay-Z, referring to him as her rock and best friend.

Beyoncé spoke about the essence of innovation, stating that it begins with a dream that must then be executed, despite the road often being bumpy.
