Meghan Markle decided not to attend the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles and as a result, missed out on meeting up with co-stars for the hit law series, Suits.

An insider claimed that although Meghan Markle received an invitation to take part in the reunion of Suits’ casts at the 2024 Golden Globes, she declined the offer.

The Duchess of Sussex hasn’t gotten back in touch with her former castmates just yet, but reports indicate that she is in “advanced talks” about making a huge TV comeback as Rachel Zane.

As the cast and crew of Succession accepted the Best Television Series Drama award, some of the stars of her previous show, Suits, made a surprise reunion during the live ceremony.

Presenters on stage included Meghan’s co-stars in the hit show, Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres.

Host Jo Koy mocked Meghan and her husband Prince Harry during the comedian’s opening monologue, which also aimed at the ‘rich, white, and dysfunctional’ Royal Family.

He said: “Succession has nine nominations. Just a great series about a rich, white, dysfunctional family, all scheming—oh, wait, that’s The Crown. I’m sorry.”

“Harry and Meghan Markle got paid millions for doing absolutely nothing,” Koy said, adding, “And that’s just by Netflix.”

“We asked the duchess, but we were told that, unfortunately, she had a previous commitment,” a Globes insider is said to told Page Six as the reason for her absence.

Although Meghan’s former co-stars Adams and Macht talked about the possibility of her coming back to the show, it’s not clear what kind of commitment prevented Meghan from going to the Golden Globes.

In a red carpet interview with Variety, Meghan’s former co-star Gina acknowledged that the reason the Duchess of Sussex isn’t in their Suits text group is because they don’t have her phone number. “Her phone number is not with us,”  “We just don’t. So she’ll see; she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.”

Gina also mentioned that since Suits, which ran from 2011 to 2019, is available on Netflix, the cast has been talking about the show’s recent success. “We were all texting each other when it all came through. Yes, things are crazy in our text thread right now. Thus, it’s really thrilling”.

From 2011 until 2018, when she departed the show at the height of her romance with Prince Harry, Meghan portrayed Rachel Zane on Suits.

The majority of the cast, including Rick Hoffman, Gabriel, Patrick, Sarah, Gina, and Abigail Spencer, were invited to their royal wedding in May 2018 in London, England.
