All I Want for Christmas Is You by American singer Mariah Carey has been enjoying the No.1 position in the 18th week on the Billboard Global 200 chart as of January 6, 2024.
The 1994 holiday hit also holds the No.1 spot on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart for a record-tying 13th week.
Not only does festive music dominate the top 10 of both charts, but the top 19 titles on the Global 200 are Christmas songs, as are the whole top 20 on Global Excl. US chart.
Those totals are the most holiday hits from the top down since the surveys began in 2020; before, the top 10 songs on the Global 200 and the top seven songs on the Global Excl. U.S. charts were all-holiday on the rankings dated a year ago this week (January 7, 2023).
Luminate compiles the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, which rate songs based on streaming and sales activity from more than 200 regions across the world. The Global 200 chart includes data from all around the world, while the Global Excl. US. chart includes data from areas other than the United States.
Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula that includes official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers worldwide, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.
It can be recalled that Mariah Carey recently paid a surprise house visit to two lucky admirers who happen to be the president and vice president of the United States of America.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the singer mentioned that she recently stopped by the White House in Washington, D.C., to meet with President Joe Biden and his deputy, Vice President Kamala Harris. She also took along her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe who also got to visit the Oval Office and speak with the nation’s leaders.
Mariah Carey posed for photographs with both Biden and Harris, as well as with her children, in front of the White House’s magnificent Christmas decorations while there.
