Remember the 2017 single Despacito? Well, the hitmaker, Luis Fonsi, has returned with a new album, and the title of all songs on the compilation is the name of a city.

The 12-track record known as El Viaje is explained as a reflection of his 25-year journey in music. The titles of the songs are the names of some of the cities he toured.

With 11 albums to his credit, the Latin music export says his journey has been “an evolution from album to album” and that every city on the new album means “something different” to him.

“You know when you reach these kind of moments in life you look back and you’re like, wow it’s been a fun journey. It’s been a beautiful trip.

“Straight out of college, I started promoting my first album, and it’s really been nonstop since then. And it’s been kind of an evolution from album number one to album number 11, so that’s why ‘El Viaje’ to me represents that journey,” he said in an interview with Billboard.

The album has titles like Roma (Con Laura Pausini), Santa Marta (Con Carlos Vives), Andalucía, La Romana, San Juan (Con Jay Wheeler), Méxic, Rio, Marbella (Con Omar Montes), Santiago,  Pasa A Página, Panama, Medelín, Buenos Aires.

Luis Fonsi collaborated with Despacito writer-producers Andrés Torres and Mauricio Renfigo, who served as executive producers on the new album.

In addition to Colombian singer, Karol G, he is also said to have worked with other co-writers on the second single on the ablum “Santiago,” which blends Latin hitmakers from different generations.

He described another single Santa Marta, which he did with fellow Latin musician Carlos Vives, as a celebration of love.

“…It’s a song that is perfect to sing to somebody who you love. It’s like an anniversary song. It’s almost a wedding song. Once Carlos got involved, I was like, this has to be named Santa Marta. So we kind of rewrote it. He wrote his part as well. And we made it ours and that was such a beautiful journey,” he stated.
