On Thursday, Paramount released the first trailer for the Bob Marley-centric biopic, Bob Marley: One Love, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Ziggy Marley approves.

With the tagline, “One man. One message. One revolution. One legend,” the legendary life and career of Bob Marley will be captured in the forthcoming film.

The teaser takes viewers on a tour of Bob’s early years in Jamaica as well as his ascent to international prominence.

The three-minute teaser showcases Bob’s life, with moments of the singer hanging out with his family and performing live on stage. It demonstrates how, following an attempted assassination in 1976, the singer became the head of a nonviolent movement before passing away from melanoma in 1981.

With Reinaldo Marcus Green at the steering wheel, the movie seeks to honor the life and music of “an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.”

In a recent video released on Monday, December 4, Ziggy Marley, the late reggae star’s son, took to Instagram to share a message with his followers and provide actor Kingsley Ben-Adir with his seal of approval for his portrayal of his father.

He said, “In the audition, I saw Kingsley, who plays my father. He was the one who kept my attention,” Ziggy says in the video shared by Paramount Pictures.

“Kingsley artfully did a great job, not trying to mimic my father. To be true to who Bob was, how he speaks, how he acts, and how he sees the world, I think Kingsley is bringing that human element. Not just the legend or the artist, but the human side, the emotional side,” Ziggy noted.

You will be able to see for the first time what it was like to be in the presence of the legend, as well as his struggles, joy, and redemption, in this film.

The cast and crew represent one of the most distinctive productions to ever come out of a Hollywood studio.

The film was shot in England and Jamaica and features a large number of Jamaican actors.

The movie was shot in real locations in Kingston, including Trench Town and Bull Bay, where Bob used to stroll, play football, and sing. The world will be proud of this artistic creation, but it will also serve as inspiration.

On February 14, 2024, Valentine’s Day, the film will be released in theaters.

One Love showcases Bob’s inspirational story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.
