The sounds of Afrobeats and Amapiano are undeniably infectious, and as both genres continue to reign, a lot more artistes are proving their dexterity and ‘magic’ in applying the elements of these popular rhythms.
One of the latest tunes worth mentioning is that of Nigerian and Made Men Music signee, Iyanya.
The songwriter and talented artiste has released an easy-to-listen melody titled Away which is likely to grab attention in the days ahead.
With a touch of Amapiano, the new track has an infectious melody and catchy lyrics that project another dimension of the Your Waist composer.
Away described as “a must-have addition to any music playlist,” is Iyanya’s latest offering for the year 2023 and demonstrates his qualities as an artiste.

He talks about the progress in his life with the Nigerian English pidgin refrain: “Them tell me say I no get any better but them no know say I get Holy Father…Check my life, see me now…them wan relate; them say them know me before…”
The Kukere songwriter blends English and a bit of Nigeria’s native languages in the mid-tempo jam.
Iyanya, in February this year, joined hands with his colleagues in the industry, Mayorkun, and Tekno on the remix of the Afrobeats song, One Side.
Later in June, he unveiled the six-track Love & Trust album with songs including Sinner, Breakfast, Allow and Plans, and continues to sweep listeners off their feet with his mesmerising vocals.
