American actor and singer Jamie Foxx has disclosed the true reason behind his unexpected hospitalization last year.

In a video that surfaced online on Monday, July 1, 2024, the actor shared details while speaking to a group at a restaurant in Phoenix.

Jamie Foxx revealed that on April 11, 2023, he took some Advil for a headache and then inexplicably lost consciousness for 20 days.

“I had a bad headache and asked a friend for an Advil. Next thing I knew, I was out for 20 days with no memory of what happened,” he said.

Foxx mentioned that he was in Atlanta when the incident occurred. His sister and daughter took him to a doctor, who indicated something was wrong.

Although Foxx did not specify the exact nature of the condition, he pointed to his head, hinting at a significant issue.

Initially, Jamie Foxx’s health scare was referred to as a “medical complication.” His daughter, Corinne, had assured the public that he was already recovering due to quick medical intervention and excellent care.

At the time of his hospitalization, Foxx was filming the movie Back in Action in Atlanta. The film, directed by Seth Gordon and co-starring Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, and Kyle Chandler, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in November.

Despite widespread speculation about his condition, Corinne later revealed that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks and was recuperating. She even mentioned that he had played pickleball the day before her update.

After his hospital release, Jamie Foxx reportedly checked into a top physical rehabilitation center.

Reflecting on his ordeal, Foxx shared that he had a near-death experience, describing it as seeing “the tunnel.” He also mentioned that he initially couldn’t walk after the incident.
