Nigeria’s exceptional female Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage, says she has postponed all her performances due to a virus affecting her vocals.

The singer, in a statement on her X (Twitter) account, said she has been fighting the virus for a few weeks now and has to adhere to medical advice going forward.

Apologizing to her fans (Savage Soldiers), she said she was “heartbroken” but had to take this decision to “save her voice.”

She said all performances, including her first-ever headline OVO Arena show in London, have been put on hold.

“To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months.

“I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances, including my first-ever headline arena show in London. I’m broken and devastated, but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice,” she wrote in the letter.

The Eminado hit singer, however, promised to get back on track with her shows once she was “fully healed.”

Followers have wished her a speedy recovery, saying they will wait until she returns.

The Overloading hitmaker was billed for the Tiwa Savage and Friends concert at the OVO Arena Wembley, United Kingdom, scheduled for November 26, 2023.

The performance would have made her the first female Afrobeats artiste to headline the event.

Born, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, the actress, and songwriter, has been on a remarkable musical journey in 2023, performing at the coronation of King Charles III which was held in May 2023.

She went ahead to drop singles such as Pick Up and Stamina featuring Ayra Star and Young J and collaborated magnificently with fellow Nigerian, Spyro, on Who’s Your Guy song.
