According to Omid Scobie’s book “Endgame,” the late Queen Elizabeth’s black attendant was going to be tasked to make Meghan Markle feel “comfortable”, however, Scobie reported that the then Duchess felt “insulted” and “turned down the offer” to rely on “the Queen’s attendant”.

Following Meghan Markle complaints about racial discrimination at the company, Omid Scobie, a journalist, claimed in his new book Endgame that she was approached by a Ghanaian-born equestrian Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah who offered to help.

In his memoir, Scobie wrote, “Even though he was a charming and intelligent man, it stuck out like a sore thumb to Meghan and her friends.”

After a while, Lady Susan Hussey joined Meghan’s group, but the noblewoman didn’t click with her.

Regarding the lady-in-waiting that the Queen had proposed, what possible use could the 80-year-old Lady Susan Hussey have for a 38-year-old American actress who is bi-racial and attempting to negotiate the complex Palace system?

Scobie believes that the “lack of black or other non-white staff” in “relevant senior roles” ultimately had an impact on Meghan’s journey.

In 2020, Meghan and Harry abruptly left the British royal family. The Duchess attributed her departure to her in-law’s “unconscious bias” and negative press coverage. The world turned to watch Markle’s arrival.

In her 2021 tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan opened up about the challenges she faced as a mixed-race member of the British monarchy. During the television special, she accused an unnamed royal of gossiping about Prince Archie’s complexion.

Meghan claimed that an unidentified royal was spreading rumors about Prince Archie’s skin tone during the TV special.

“I’m able to respond to you honestly. During my pregnancy, we discussed several things at the same time, including how dark the baby’s skin might be when he is born and that “he won’t be given security or a title.” Meghan revealed.

Meghan acknowledged she was unprepared for her role as a duchess, in addition to hinting that Prince Harry’s family members were racist.

“I would say that not having known much about the royal family growing up, I went into it naively,” the mother of two admitted. “It wasn’t part of something that was part of [the] conversation at home.”

“It wasn’t something we adhered to. Did Diana ever do an interview? My mother even asked me a few months ago. Yes, a very famous one, I can say that now, but my mom is aware of that,” Meghan added.
