Dame Dash, in an appearance on the “Moguls in the Making” podcast, opened up about the infamous feud between Jay-Z and Nas, asserting that there was never any fear of violence during the bitter rivalry.
Speaking candidly, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder emphasized that neither he nor Jay-Z were concerned about the conflict escalating into physical harm.
Dame Dash acknowledged that while rap ‘beefs’ can sometimes turn deadly, as seen in the tragic cases of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., the clash between Jigga and Nas was not one of those situations.
He pointed out that even though tensions ran high, their battle remained strictly lyrical and did not pose any real threat of violence.
Reflecting on the infamous diss tracks that characterized the feud, Dash admitted that Nas had the upper hand, especially after Jay’s response track “Supa Ugly” failed to hit the mark.

He recounted his disappointment with the track on the “That’s F***ed Up” podcast, revealing that he was unimpressed with the attempt and felt that Irv Gotti’s involvement only worsened matters.
Dash also criticized Jay-Z’s public apology to Nas, particularly the part where Jay-Z claimed to have had a sexual encounter with Nas’ then-girlfriend, Carmen Bryan.
This controversial line prompted a backlash, not least from Jay’s mother, Gloria Carter. According to Dash, the apology, made during a Hot 97 radio interview in December 2001, came after a stern call from Jay-Z’s mother, who disapproved of the crude lyrics.

Meanwhile, Dame Dash, the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, recently reignited his feud with Jay-Z and Fat Joe.
In a recent episode of his America Nu Network podcast, the record executive responded to Fat Joe’s remarks that he was “delusional” and challenged him to “make another one [Jay-Z]”.
Dash accused Jigga of being a “double dipper” who took money from the label and his artist contract.
