American rapper Cardi B opened up about what she meant when she said couples should split their expenses equally, explaining what she meant when she said she and her husband Offset go 50/50 on expenses.

Cardi B clarified her earlier remarks on the subject on Instagram Live on March 17, claiming that she was misunderstood.

“The men started praising me and the women started attacking me. First things first, I never said women and men have to go 50/50,” she stated about an initial reaction to a now-viral post of her discussing the matter that surfaced over the weekend.

“I want to make this very f**king clear. Me and Offset, we don’t go 50/50. We bought a house, and we went half and half on our Atlanta home. We got two properties that we bought together, two investment homes. I bought my home in Jersey myself, and he bought a condo in Miami himself.“

After recording her Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast episode, Cardi’s cohost Wallo267 posted a video to Instagram where she discussed her thoughts on the financial obligations that come with marriage and committed relationships.

“If you and yo’ man make the same amount of money, right? But only your man is the one paying all the bills, how [are] y’all ever going to save up to buy a house or buy a business? Cause he’s never going to be able to afford it. So, it’s like… certain things, it’s a joint thing to do, you know what I’m saying? It’s like a work together.” the female rapper said.

“The internet be having people f**ked up from like real reality type sh*t. Y’all be acting like y’all don’t know what the f**k that is like no more. Come on… Y’all don’t be living in the real world,” she said.
