Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini, has been certified gold in the United Kingdom, the musician announced on Saturday.

The certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) is happening after the popular record album sold a total of 100,000 units.

Love, Damini album, released in July 2022, is known for singles including Last Last, It’s Plenty, Dirty Secret, Common Person, For My Hand, and many others.

Fans, who have spoken highly about the project since it arrived last year, have congratulated Burna Boy on the latest recognition, urging him to continue breaking new ground.

The album, before this milestone, had performed remarkably on charts across the globe, reaching No.1 on the UK R&B Albums in 2022. It also peaked at No.14 on the US Billboard Hot 200 and No.3 on Nigeria’s Music chart (Turntable).

In addition to the ladders climbed elsewhere, the album has also been certified gold in Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, and France after it made a substantial volume of sales, ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 across the various platforms.

By the end of 2022, the album had appeared on charts in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Norway, and other countries.

Love, Damini has interesting features including Ed Sheeran who added a sweet flavor to the track For My Hand.  Others included Victony, Popcaan, Khalid, and J Balvin.

Last Last, For My Hand, and a few other songs on the Love, Damini album, were also among the top hundred songs in Sub-Saharan Africa announced by Apple Music recently.

Afrobeats+ earlier reported that Burna Boys is competing in three different categories at the 2024 Grammys and if things go as anticipated, he would be adding more laurels to his trophy cabinet.

He is billed to perform at the Mercedez-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, on December 9, 2023, and at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne.

He completed his I Told Them Tour early in November, putting on an exciting show in London.
