Trending single Commas by Ayra Starr made its debut on the United States Billboard Afrobeat Chart, currently pegged at No. 6 on the table.

The upbeat rendition has also been endorsed in the Gambia and her home country, where it continued to top local charts. This progress is not surprising, as the official video for the song reached a little over three million views on YouTube.

Reviews of the song on streaming platforms have also been positive so far, as the electrifying performer cools off somewhere in Barbados, Havana. She shared a selfie from the location on Tuesday, with Commas playing in the background

The song is her first single for 2024 by the Rush hitmaker, who lost out on her first Grammy nomination this year.

Early in January this year, she teased fans with excerpts of Commas on her X (Twitter) page, which eventually turned out to a one of the most refreshing Afrobeats sounds available at the moment.

Commas is a happy-sounding song in which the Sability hitmaker sings about trusting in God and making steady progress, obviously, in her career. The new release adds up to the rich discography of Mavins Record signee.

Fans were already in love with Commas even before the official sound and the visuals were released in January. Ayra Starr, nicknamed Celestial Being, is admired for her work rate and soothing repertoire in her young career.

She continues to produce back-to-back hits, pulling huge crowd at top concerts, and gaining international recognition. Her song Rush competed in the Best African Performance category at the 66th Grammys.

Although she did not win this year, she has her speech and everything else prepared for next year, she said jokingly, ahead of the just-ended music’s biggest ceremony.
