Ayra Starr Holds Listening Party For Upcoming Album In Paris

Outstanding Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has been holding listening sessions for her new album in Paris as fans await the official release tomorrow, Friday, May 31, 2024.

On Thursday, the trendy performer posted snapshots of her performance at an auditorium in the French capital amidst cheers from her fans.

Ayra Starr’s second studio album “The Year I Turned 21 has guest features including Afrobeats finest, Asake, American singer Coco Jones, and other notable artistes. Many fans are reported to have pre-saved the album with streaming figures increasing rapidly on Spotify.

The recording has previously released singles like Commas and Rhythm and Blues. Other melodies on the compilation include Birds Sing of Money, Goodbye (Warm Up) ft Asake, Woman Commando ft Coco Jones, Control, Lagos Love Story, Last Heartbreak Song, Bad Vibes, The Kids Are Alright.

In a recent interview, Ayra stated that she chose to work with the artistes featured on the album because she has a musical soft spot for each of them.

“Everybody I collaborated with on this album, I genuinely love their sound. I say I’m the creative director of my music because I hear different things and I put different things together,” she stated.

Early in January, Ayra trended with Afrosound Commas and subsequently released a solo video to back it up. The song, by the end of February 2024, had accumulated 10 million streams on Spotify and continues to attain new milestones on streaming platforms.

Weeks after her 2024 single started trending, Ayra stated she was working on the new album but held on until the end of April 2024 to reveal the title of the project as The Year I Turned 21.

The sensational performer recently grabbed three nominations ahead of the 2024 BET Awards, scheduled to take place later in June this year.

Her name appeared in the Best New Artist, Best International Act, category, while her 2024 Commas were selected for the ‘Best Her’ award category.  She celebrated her latest nominations though she will face stiff competition from other top performers in the category.
