Amber Rose has shared a startling new insight into her rise to fame and it has something to do with her way of dressing.

Her change from what she called a “conservative” persona to the self-assured “sexpot” image she is known for today is attributed to her ex-boyfriend Kanye West.

Rose discussed her previous relationship with the music mogul in an open discussion on Bethenny Frankel’s podcast, Just B, opening up about how his influence was crucial in forming her public persona.

Amber acknowledged that she is a “sexual being,” but she was very reserved in that regard when Frankel questioned her about whether she saw herself as a sexual person.

“Actually, I’m more of a conservative. From a young age, I have always been conservative, and I believe in coming out on the scene. She clarified, “I was kind of thrown into this sex spot type of girl.”

“Well, that kind of thing brought me to the light when I was kind of out on my own, without my first relationship,” Amber continued.

Hollywood only wanted to book her for sexy roles, according to the founder of Slut Walk.

Producers would approach me and say, “We want to do this video for MTV, and we want you to be at the pool, wearing a bikini and holding a martini.” And I think, ‘Gosh, I’m so not her’. Although I understand what I seem like, I’m not her,” she clarified.

She revealed to the ex-Bravolebrity that, from 2008 to 2010, Kanye West influenced her appearance. In addition to being in the public eye, that was Amber Rose’s first relationship with a celebrity.

“…furthermore, he is well-versed in fashion, and he has always encouraged me to wear attractive clothes.”

The mother of two expressed to the host her belief that even though she was legally an adult, she only took on certain decisions and jobs because they paid her, even though she didn’t want to.

She continued, saying, “When you’re forty, you can look back at twenty-five and say I was a baby and I didn’t know s—t, you know,” before explaining that her choices had caused her to be “pigeonholed into this sexy type of girl.”

“I cringed when I saw the Inc. Magazine cover that someone tagged me in on Instagram. It says ‘The Sex Issue,’ and it just took me back to a time when I felt like I was fighting so hard to not be that person and nobody would let me.”
