Two years after the couple first went viral online, a video of a 63-year-old bishop trying to defend his marriage to a nineteen-year-old congregant has gone viral.
In the video, 63-year-old Bishop Dwight Reed can be seen addressing his congregants from the pulpit at Iowa State, hoping to stir up trouble over his wife, Jordan Goodlett, who married the church leader when she was only 19 years old.
“And I wish some of ya’ll would mess with my wife, Jordan. Talking about, ‘what you gonna do if you see her?’ Well, you will see me on the news! You better walk by and say ‘praise the lord!’ that’s what you better do, because that’s my wife! And she grown! She didn’t need nobody to sign no paper work for her. If this was out in the streets, ya’ll would be saying she made a come-up, but you a hypocrite,” Bishop Reed started.
He continued by quoting scripture that praised marriage and insisted that neither he nor his wife had any issues with their behavior.
“And we sleeping good at night! Ain’t nobody up all night worried about these crooks,” he added.

According to the Des Moines Register, Bishop Reed married Jordan, his third wife, in November 2021. Before their marriage, he was allegedly “offering special guidance” to the teenager while serving as the Dean of the Church School.
It was also said that there is no legal reason why the pair shouldn’t be together since 16 is the legal age of consent in Iowa. Nevertheless, many believe the relationship is wrong because of their nearly 40-year age difference.
“PREDATOR! He probably was looking at her when she was a kid just waiting on her to turn 18. It’s the fact that he still got members for me! Like none of y’all got sense?,” a critic quizzed online.
“I’m sorry but this is sick and disgusting. This is why we need our parents and grandparents in our lives. My grandmother always told me never get with a man that’s way older than me, ” another critic stated.
