Nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards will be announced Friday, November 8, 2024, ahead of the main event scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2025, the Recording Academy has announced.

Like the 2024 edition, the event will take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and broadcast live on the CBS Television Network. Live stream will also be available on demand on Paramount+.

First Round Voting for nominees, has been scheduled to take place from October 4, 2024, to October 15, 2024. Final Round Voting for the nominees will take place from December 12, 2024, to January 3, 2025.

Other modalities are also expected to take place between September and August 2024.

The 2024 Grammy has been described as a “history-making night” as women won majority of the categories. They included Taylor Swift (Album Of The Year), Billie Eilish (Song Of The Year), Miley Cyrus (Record Of The Year), and Victoria Monét (Best New Artist).

Some top African talents also featured prominently in the nominations for the 66th edition but it was Water hitmaker, Tyla, who emerged winner in the inaugural Best African Performance category.

Two of Africa’s music giants, Burnaboy and Davido, secured three nominations each at the 2024 Grammys when they came head-to-head in the Best Global Music Performance, Best African Music Performance, and Best Global Music Album categories.

Apart from these top two, Amapiano by ASAKE & Olamide; Rush by Ayra Starr, were all nominated. Fans will be looking forward to what the 67th edition has in store for African musicians, especially Afrobeats and Amapiano genres.

Last month, The Recording Academy, the world’s biggest network of music experts, launched an online course called ‘Grammy Go’, for professionals in the music industry.

The tailor-made course is a partnership between the Academy and the learning platform, Coursera, and will include modules taught by top-notch Academy members.

Enrollment opened with courses such as “Building Your Audience for Music Professionals,” taught by Joey Harris, an international music/marketing executive, and would also feature other resource persons including musician, Victoria Monet.
