Singer Chilli appears to be unfazed by her ex-boyfriend Usher’s recent claims that she rejected his marriage proposal years ago.
Rather than make Usher’s story distract her, Chili is currently vacationing in Jamaica with her boyfriend, actor Matthew Lawrence, to celebrate his 44th birthday. The couple was spotted cuddling, laughing, and kissing during their tropical getaway, showcasing their strong bond.
Chili unfazed by revelation of failed proposal
Usher recently revealed to People that he was heartbroken when Chilli turned down his proposal while they were dating in the early 2000s, damaging his ability to trust women.
However, TMZ reports close sources saying that Chili takes relationships and marriage seriously and will not rush into commitments unless she is completely ready. She simply did not feel Usher was the right partner for her at the time.
Chilli has been dating Lawrence for a couple of years now and has previously expressed her desire to marry him someday, although they are not yet engaged.

The couple married at Vegas Weddings’ Terrace Gazebo, an outdoor wedding chapel that accommodates 30 guests, with Usher’s mother and his longtime manager, Jonetta Patton, serving as their witnesses.
“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family. They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes,” Usher’s reps stated in a statement.
