Killer Mike has expressed his confidence that he will be cleared of any wrongdoing following his arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

The acclaimed rapper and activist was detained by the police after an altercation with a security guard at the Crypto.com Arena Los Angeles, where the awards show was held on Sunday, February 4.

He is facing a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly pushing the security guard to the ground and injuring her hand and fingers. He was released from police custody later that night on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court on February 29.

Killer Mike tells his version of arrest story

In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Killer Mike gave his version of what happened on the night, when he swept the rap categories.

The rapper explained that he and his team were trying to enter the venue through a door that they had used before, but they encountered a security guard who was “over-zealous” and “unprofessional”.

According to him, the guard was rude and aggressive, and he tried to push past him to avoid further confrontation.

“As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the utmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing. Until that time, keep listening to ‘Michael,’ and keep going after your dreams.”
