American rapper Kanye West, is facing a hefty tax bill of over $1 million for his Yeezy fashion brand and two properties in California.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, there are four liens filed against Yeezy Apparel, LLC by the California Franchise Tax Board for unpaid taxes from 2018 to 2020. The total amount of the liens is $934,033.56, which includes penalties and interest.

In addition, West reportedly owes $101,093 in property taxes for two homes in Calabasas that he bought with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, before their divorce was finalized in November 2022. The homes are valued at $14 million and $20 million, respectively.

West, who changed his legal name to Ye in 2022, has not commented on the tax issues.

West’s financial troubles come amid his controversial behavior and statements in recent months, which have cost him several business partnerships and endorsements.

Adidas and Gap both terminated their deals with West after he made antisemitic remarks on social media and in interviews. He also faced backlash for dining with former President Donald Trump and white nationalist Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago.

West is estimated to be worth $400 million, down from $1.5 billion in 2020.
