American rapper-producer DJ Khaled may be enjoying life and owning big properties but it has not always been this rosy.

The renowned DJ, born Khaled Mohammed Khaled, once hit a financial quagmire and nearly lost his home in Miami.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Khaled revealed that he found himself in a dire situation around 2015 because he was not “hustling smart.”

According to him, despite all his successes in the years prior, he was still renting his home. After investing his own money into We The Best, he had trouble paying the bills, to the point where he feared losing his lease.

“I remember I had like a month to come up with this [large] amount of money. I kept saying, ‘There’s no way in the world that we worked this much this far and we don’t have nothing to show for it.’ I changed that right away,” he recalled.

DJ Khaled bounced backwith family motivation

From that moment he restrategized and struck gold with his antics on social media, especially Snapchat. He followed the social media success with his chart-topping, Major Key.

Motivated by his family ethos, Khaled worked himself up and he is enjoying the resurgence.

“I was like, ‘Yo, if I want a family, I got to get my shit right.’ And I gambled on myself. I always bet on myself from day one. But I tripled down that day.”

It boasts of nine bedrooms and 10-and-a-half bathrooms—including a five-bedroom main house, four-bedroom guest house, safe room, outdoor shower, home theater, elevator, and a fireplace.

Jada Pinkett reacts to Brother Bilaal’s allegations agaisnt Will Smith

Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that together with Will Smith, she intends to sue Brother Bilaal, who claimed Will Smith and Duane Martin were physically involved.

Brother Bilaal made the claims during an interview with Tasha K and it has sparked nationwide debate.

However, 52-year-old Set It Off star, during an interview with The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, indicated that “It is based around this person’s idea that they, in some way, were doing business around Will’s book, and that they spent money or whatever, and that they needed to be compensated. So he tried to do this money shakedown. Will was willing to give him a certain amount, and he didn’t take it. So this whole situation is based on that.”
