Singer-songwriter Mr Eazi, is “auditioning” for the next big female artiste. He declared his intention to sign at least one female artiste in 2024 on his X (Twitter) account on Thursday.

The call is coming days after he has been recognised as one of the few personalities creating a positive impact through the arts and culture.

Since making the post, several female talents have responded with videos displaying their vocal prowess and artistic finesse.

Many of the emerging performers consider it an opportunity to work with the Skin Tight hitmaker, who has recruited many vibrant talents through his emPower music programme.

In 2018, the ‘musicprenuer’ launched the emPawa Africa programme, a charity and investment initiative to equip Africa’s most promising music talents with money, tools, and networks so they can become independent and chart a path in the industry

YouTube Music also partnered with emPawa Africa to provide support for the artists as they provided funds to the selected emPawa artists and helped push them to fame.

The likes of Alcohol hitmaker, Joeboy; Ghanaian singer J.Derobie, Camidoh (Ghana) Camo Blaizz (Nigeria) Sishii (South Africa) and many others are beneficiaries of the initiative.

About 30 budding musicians selected through emPawa in 2020, received up to $10,000 non-repayable grant for filming their first official music video and paid for marketing services and other services to launch their music recording career.

It is not clear if Mr Eazi’s quest to sign a female singer in 2024 is a part of the emPower initiative or what packages may be available for the chosen candidate.

As it stands, more females are putting their best foot forward, and fans will be looking to see who the Surrender composer settles on.

Mr. Eazi has been making waves with The Evil Genius album, released late this year. It currently has over eight million streams on Audiomack alone.

Before unveiling the project, he dropped two singles, Exit and Fefe ne Fefe off the 16-track compilation launched on October 27, 2023.
