The iconic location features a row of stars set into the pavements along Vine Street and Hollywood Boulevard known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Every star is named after a famous person who has made a noteworthy contribution to the entertainment sector. This landmark consists of more than just the names of famous people – it is also the entertainment industry’s living history. 

A rich tradition that stretches back to the early days of Hollywood is continued when new stars are inducted into the Walk of Fame. In 2023, a couple of new movie stars as well as music stars represented on the list of entertainment figures who received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Here are the 9 Black celebrities who got Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Darius Rucker

The actor and rapper attended a ceremony honoring him with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 18, 2023.

Martin Lawrence

The actor and comedian received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 20, 2023, and was honored with reverent speeches from co-stars and collaborators, including Lynn Whitfield, Tracy Morgan, and Steve Harvey.

Michael B. Jordan

The acclaimed actor-director posed with his star at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on March 1, 2023.

Ice-T

The rapper-actor was joined by Chuck D, Lupita Sanchez Cornejo, Mariska Hargitay, and Dick Wolf for his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on February 17, 2023.

Michael Strahan

Michael Strahan, a TV personality and former NFL pro was honored with the first Sports Entertainment star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 23, 2023.

Wendy Williams

Wendy is a queen of Talk shows and her getting a star on the Walk of Fame is believed to have been way overdue. The talk show host truly dressed for the occasion, rocking a flowy, star-adorned black-and-white Dolce & Gabbana dress at her Walk of Fame ceremony on October 17.

Tyler Perry

After all these years, the popular, known for playing Madea, was “sitting pretty” beside his new star during his Walk of Fame ceremony on October 1.

Terrence Howard

The Empire star made his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony a family affair, bringing along his wife, Mira Pak, and their two kids, Qirin and Hero, as he received his star on September 24.
