Beyonce’s inability to win an award at the 2024 Grammys did not go down well with her husband, Jay-Z, who subsequently called out the Recording Academy

Despite being the artiste with the most Grammy wins ever, Beyonce did not receive the award for Album of the Year, and this made her husband go on a rant.

As he accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award for his work in the music industry, Jay-Z took a moment to blast the academy for failing to give an award to his wife.

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year,” he said while looking at the Halo singer from the stage. In his opinion, “that math doesn’t work.”

Jay-Z then went on to slam fellow musicians, arguing that some of them didn’t even deserve to be nominated in certain categories.

“Some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed. Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don’t belong in the category…when I get nervous I tell the truth,” he quipped. Jay-Z then went on to add that he simply wants the academy to get it right or at least close to right.

Beyoncé, 42, has been nominated four times for Album of the Year but has lost to Taylor Swift, Adele, Harry Styles, and Beck. To date, she has been nominated for 88 Grammys in total and has won 33 of them.

The Crazy in Love singer made history at the 2023 ceremony when her latest win landed her the title of the artist with the most Grammys.

This was largely attributed to her 2022 Renaissance album, which got her the award for the best dance/electronic music album.

Beyonce, however, was the cynosure of all eyes, as she stole the show while donning a bedazzled Western look.
